Penile implants can restore erectile function

Penile implants — What to expect and how to prepare

First introduced in the 1970s, penile implants were the most reliable treatment for erectile dysfunction until the 1980s when medications injected into the penis became available. In the 1990s, oral agents such as sildenafil (Viagra) were introduced. These medications have since become the most popular erectile dysfunction treatment, but they don't work for all men with erectile problems. About two-thirds of men with ED will respond to oral medications — but some men can't take them, or the medications don't produce satisfactory results. For these men, penile implants are an additional option.

Penile implants require complex and permanent surgery, and there is a risk of infection and a risk that the device will malfunction. But, since these devices were first introduced, new materials, designs and surgical procedures have greatly improved outcomes for penile implants. Most men who have the procedure and their partners say they're satisfied with the results.

Prostate Treatment With Saw Palmetto

Do you need prostate supplements?
One natural herb used for treating an enlarged prostate is Saw Palmetto. Saw Palmetto is native to the West Indies and the Atlantic coast of the United States of America. Native Americans and early white settlers used the berries to treat problems with the reproductive system and urinary tract. The herb has been widely used in Europe and Canada for years, and more recently has found favor in even the United States. There is increasing research and growing documentation that supports the benefits of Saw Palmetto for both the prostate and the urinary tract. Nearly 50 percent of men over age 50 will experience benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or an enlargement of the prostate gland. One in seven over this age will be diagnosed with some form of prostate cancer. Saw Palmetto may be as effective in treating BPH as prescription medications and drug.

The initial research and studies of Saw Plametto have certainly been promising and offer a non-prescription drug alternative to treating the enlarged prostate. While Europeans have embraced herbal treatments, these remedies still have not found favor with medical professionals in the United States. Perhaps with more research and experience, herbs will provide a larger role in prostate treatment options in America. Until then, many Americans are seeking out these natural alternatives and supplements at health food stores and trying them on their own without medical supervision. As in all medical treatments, let your doctor know, even if he or she doesn’t approve. This can help you avoid possible side effects with other prescription drugs.

Super Charge Your Virility

Testosterone 101

Unless you do something about it, testosterone levels begin to fall once you reach your mid-30s. Testosterone is a muscle-building hormone that’s connected to your virility, but if you’re not giving your body any reason to make more muscle or maintain what you have, there’s no stimulus to keep your testosterone production from falling. Why does this matter? Well, boosting your testosterone levels will help keep your sex life healthy.

While there are blood tests to tell if you’re running low on testosterone, a simple indication can be a lack of amorous feelings in the morning. If that’s you, you may be running low on the stuff.

Enough of Bruce's Willi(e)s , let's have some Harry Potter's tush

Daniel Radcliffe shows that it is ok to be nude at 17

It won't be for reasons of modesty - Radcliffe, 17, has shown himself to be remarkably relaxed about exposing his naked body to the world - but there are those who wonder whether this full-on display, in the West End revival of Peter Schaffer's play Equus, could prove ultimately damaging to the teenage star's career.

In the play, enjoying its first major revival since it was first staged more than 30 years ago, Radcliffe plays stablehand Alan Strang, who blinds six horses with a metal spike after a disturbing sexual experience.

Executives at Warner Bros, the studio behind the film versions of J K Rowling's books, are said to have been "utterly dismayed" by publicity shots of Radcliffe naked, as well as the fact that he spends a full 10 minutes on stage without his clothes.

Is Bruce Willis dieting for nude sex scenes?

Bruce Willis 'dieting for nude sex scenes' | 24dash.com - Showbiz & Slap Dash:
Bruce Willis has been dieting for nude sex scenes.

The Hollywood actor - who is currently shooting 'Live Free or Die Hard' - wants to look perfect when he bares-all on the big screen.

Bruce said: 'I have a few naked scenes so I want to look good. But I am not going to be a size zero.'

The ageing actor - who is set to return as police officer John McLean - has embarked on a gruelling training regime to turn his middle-aged spread into a buff body.

However, Bruce's expanding waistline hasn't hindered his sexual prowess. At his 50th birthday party last year, he claimed his sex life was better than any 25-year-old's.

He said: 'Sex is much better at 50. You are in less of a hurry and know a few more tricks.'

The handsome actor - who has been linked to a string of young beauties since divorcing actress Demi Moore in 2000 - claims he is still a great catch and insists his equipment is in good working order.

He said: 'I've got a great sense of humour and it's still all working, working well.'

Men, beware of anti-aging therapy

Men, beware of anti-aging therapy: "For some aging men, the temptations are enticing - bigger muscles, more stamina, enhanced memory and improved sex drive and performance.

But the jury is still out on the risks of testosterone therapy as an anti-aging formula, urologist Alvaro Morales told an international conference on men and aging yesterday at a Montreal hotel.

The issue of hormone-replacement therapy for men has been marred by controversy for years - even before an aging population led to an increase in its use, Morales said.

'When I went to medical school, we were taught that (hormone replacement) was very bad for your heart and your circulation,' said Morales of Queen's University in Kingston, Ont. 'But the greatest fear is the risk of prostate cancer.'"

Overweight sportsmen and their cravings

From Celebrity Fit Club's Dr Adam Carey

Dr. Adam Carey, leading nutritionist and nutritional adviser to both the England rugby and cricket teams comments, “Being overweight has a huge impact on our health, yet levels of obesity continue to escalate and we are failing to do anything about it. This new treatment, called Proactol™ , could provide a kick start for those who find it hard take control of their weight.”

“Taken after food, Proactol™, made of non-soluble and soluble fibres, immediately attaches to fats found floating on the surface of the stomach. This creates a fat-fibre complex that is too large to be absorbed in the small intestine, allowing the fat to pass naturally through the body.”

Dr Carey added, “Ideally people need to adopt a healthy lifestyle with plenty of exercise and a balanced diet, however, we need to recognise that many people find it hard to take that first step. Proactol™ can provide some initial support by binding dietary fat, decreasing food cravings, suppressing appetite and reducing blood cholesterol.”

Nudists prefer men with hairy bums

Nudists like a beach to bum around on
UNLIKE hair-conscious metrosexuals, the men competing at the Nude Olympics yesterday were particularly valued for their hairy behinds.

"Nicely tanned, good overall shape, very firm and nice fuzz," said judge Jhabel, explaining what she was looking for.

Her sister judge, Karen Prior, was looking for "a bit of colour and nice bum-fluff".

While an eventual winner was selected in the men's bum competition, the atmosphere was distinctly inclusive yesterday at South Australia's Maslins Beach - said to be the nation's first nudist beach.

"We accept people the way they are," said Ken, a regular nudist who attended with his partner Jenny. "If people are different shapes and sizes you just accept that - no one's perfect."
