Viagra ice-cream on sale now at Selfridges

Forget oysters and Champagne: A British ice cream company thinks it has a better aphrodisiac on its hands.

The Icecreamists, a posh ice cream shop that will open this fall in London's Selfridges department store, is already touting an ice cream cocktail called The Sex Pistol, which they liken to a dose of Viagra in a frosty glass, according to The London Paper.

The chilled treat contains herbal ingredients such as ginkgo biloba, arginine and guarana, all of which are said to get the libido pumping -- but the real jolt might come from the shot of La Fee Absinthe that's also mixed in.

“This is the perfect après shopping treat," Icecreamists founder Matt O'Connor told The London Paper. "Just one Sex Pistol will leave you feeling energized and confident - but please, don’t pester the staff!”

The drink will cost about $20, and the store limits sales to one per customer.

Get It Up With Watermelon Juice

Watermelon found to help men achieve erections

New research suggests that watermelon may produce effects in the body similar to that of Viagra, perhaps pointing the way to a natural remedy for men suffering from erectile dysfunction, says Bhimu Patil of Texas A&M University.

Research conducted by Patil and others has recently revealed that the flesh of watermelon contains higher levels of the amino acid citrulline than researchers had thought. Until then, most of the citrulline was believed to reside in the inedible rind of the fruit.

"We have known that watermelon has citrulline," Patil said, "[but] watermelon has more citrulline in the edible part than previously believed."

This is significant because the body converts citrulline into arginine, another amino acid that functions as a precursor to nitric oxide. Nitric oxide, in turn, plays a critical role in the dilation of blood vessels and the process of penile erection.

Is Your Viagra The Real Deal?

How to tell if the Viagra you bought online is fake?

VIAGRA is one of the world’s most counterfeited medications – largely because people are still embarrassed to speak to their physician to obtain a valid prescription, explains Malian, who offers the following tips to ensure your VIAGRA is real:

* Only buy VIAGRA from an authorized Canadian pharmacy with a prescription from your physician
o All VIAGRA packages sold in Canadian pharmacies feature a unique hologram
o VIAGRA packaging features high-tech radio frequency transmitters that track the drug’s journey from the plant to the pharmacy, ensuring the drug that reaches you is authentic.
o Buying from an authorized pharmacy will allow you to speak to your pharmacist directly if you need legitimate answers to your questions

* VIAGRA sold in Canada comes in a distinctive blue and white package featuring the image of a man on a mountain:
o VIAGRA pills are packaged in a tamper-resistant blister pack
o VIAGRA pills are sold only in quantities of 4 and 8
o VIAGRA is sold only as a tablet – it does not come in a “soft gel”, liquid or capsule format

Horny Goat Weed As Good As Viagra

Research shows Horny Goat Weed is a good Viagra alternative

The soft green heart-shaped leaf of the horny goat weed could hold the key to a new drug for treating erectile dysfunction. Researchers say the Viagra alternative could be as effective as the famous blue pill, but have fewer side-effects.

Horny Goat Weed

Mario Dell'Agli of the University of Milan, Italy, and colleagues tested four plants which are used as natural aphrodisiacs in traditional cultures to establish their potential as alternatives to Viagra.

Viagra's active compound, sildenafil, works by inhibiting an enzyme called phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5). Because PDE5 helps control blood flow to the penis, inhibiting PDE5 promotes male erection.

Dell'Agli and his colleagues tested the four plants in vitro to see how efficient they were at inhibiting PDE5. Just one – Epimedium brevicornum, also known as horny goat weed and Bishop's Hat – had an effect. This confirmed previous studies showing that icariin, a compound found inside the horny goat weed, is a PDE5 inhibitor.

Erect penis but no ejaculation after taking Viagra?

Viagra and similar preparations seem like wonder drugs to many older men, but they affect erectile function rather than ejaculation or libido. The nerve supply to the male genitalia that controls ejaculation is through the sympathetic system, which is responsible for acts as an accelerator. Conversely, erections are controlled by the parasympathetic nervous system, which acts as a brake.

Libido is controlled by several parts of the brain, another example of the truism that sex is as much about what happens between the ears as between the legs. Treatment you are having for your high blood pressure could well affect your ejaculatory powers.

Viagra was the first of the drugs to treat impotence and, therefore, its action is less effectively targeted on the genitalia. It dilates the penile arteries, which increases the blood supply to the penis and causes it to engorge.

Viagra’s power to dilate arteries also increases the blood flow through the retina so that vision may acquire a pink hue, and blood can accumulate in the limbs, temporarily taking it away from the brain, leaving patients feeling dizzy. The drop in blood pressure may also affect the coronary circulation.

Viagra may affect sperm quality

VIAGRA may be championed by men who have had their sex lives improved, but the downside is it may harm male fertility, a new study has found.

Laboratory studies conducted at Queen's University Belfast, UK suggest that taking the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra may adversely affect sperm function and possibly male fertility.

Recreational users of Viagra need to be informed of the drug's potentially harmful effects on sperm function, the investigators say.

In their experiments, Dr. David R. J. Glenn and colleagues observed that exposure of cultured sperm to Viagra, compared to no exposure, led to a "sustained enhancement of motility," both in numbers of progressively motile sperm and their velocity.

However, exposure to Viagra - at concentrations equivalent to the average maximum total blood concentration present 30 minutes after a single oral dose of 100 milligrams - also caused a premature "acrosome reaction."

Nutty alternative to Viagra

It may sound nutty, but walnuts may just be the remedy for erectile dysfunction.

Developed by a team of researchers at Universiti Malaya (UM) for the past two years, a tablet containing walnut extract has shown potential as a local alternative to Viagra.

One of the researchers, UM Faculty of Medicine Physiology Department lecturer Prof Dr Kim Kah Hwi, said that so far 40 volunteers had tried the tablet and responded positively.

On its efficacy, Prof Kim said the new pill was comparable to Viagra and he claimed that it was safer as well, although a person would have to consume about 3.3kg of walnuts for the same effect as one tablet.

“It takes about an hour for the effects to set in and it will last for about four hours."
